Cowboys CEO caught drink driving

Updated June 8, 2011 19:24:00

North Queensland Cowboys chief executive Peter Jourdain has been caught drink driving in Townsville.

In a written statement, Jourdain said he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.054 when he was pulled over after the Cowboys' match against Parramatta in May.

Jourdain says he intends to plead guilty to the charge.

The Cowboys have a strict alcohol policy for their players, introduced after a number of off-field incidents in recent years.

Cowboys chairman Laurence Lancini says Jourdain has learned a lesson that will be reinforced to the rest of the Cowboys staff.
