Newcastle Knights coach Rick Stone has been fined $10,000 for criticising the NRL referees after last night's 17-6 loss to the Broncos in Brisbane.
After the game, Stone questioned the impartiality of the referees, saying the Knights "weren't going to win as far as the refs were concerned".
NRL guidelines forbid coaches from questioning the integrity of a referee or accusing them of bias.
The Knights will have five business days to respond to the breach notice.
