Newcastle will welcome back Anthony Quinn to the club this season after the former Melbourne winger agreed to a one-year contract with the Knights.
Quinn played 103 first grade matches for the Knights between 2002 and 2006 before linking with the Storm.
The 29-year-old made three appearances for New South Wales in the 2008 State of Origin series.

Champion will re-join the Rabbitohs after being granted an immediate release from his contract with Gold Coast.
The former representative centre was pushed out of Souths before the 2011 season to create room under the salary cap for the arrival of Greg Inglis from Melbourne, after the Queensland and Australian representative's deal with Brisbane fell over.
But the 26-year-old Champion returns to Souths as the club bids to find an effective centre combination after Inglis' spectacularly successful move to fullback.
"I'm over the moon at having the opportunity to return to South Sydney," Champion said in a statement.
"(It is) the club where my career began, the team which I supported as a kid and the club which I've always dreamed of playing for," Champion said.
"I appreciate everything the people at the Titans and Storm have done for me over the past two years, and I think my time at both clubs have made me a better player and better person."
Champion spent 2011 with Melbourne and last year with the Titans.
The release of Champion by the Titans has fuelled speculation the Gold Coast club are moving in on Penrith representative centre Michael Jennings.
Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire welcomed Champion's return to the Rabbitohs.
"Beau is a very experienced NRL player ... we're very happy to be able to add a player of his ability to our squad at this stage of the pre-season," Maguire said.
"Beau's inclusion to our squad increases the challenge for spots in our first grade team, which is always good for performance and team development.
"Beau is South Sydney, through and through."
A veteran of 90 NRL games, including 70 for the Rabbitohs from 2005-'10, Champion only played nine matches for the Titans during an injury-plagued 2012.
He has played twice for City Origin and for the Indigenous All Stars in 2010 and 2011.

Fresh from losing the in-form Michael Gordon (knee) and centre Timana Tahu (pectoral muscle) to season-ending injuries, the Panthers were desperate to find something to smile about.
It has come in the form of Coote, who has struggled with the osteitis pubis injury which halted his outstanding form at the end of 2010.
Coote was named to play for Windsor in the NSW Cup last weekend, but after watching Gordon succumb to injury, Penrith officials wrapped him in cotton wool instead.
"I was supposed to play but just pulled up sore after training and I didn't want to risk going out there on the weekend, having a game and then having a setback for another two weeks," he said.
"So I just thought it was wise to play it safe."
Coote admits it will be tough to replace Gordon, who was on the verge of a State of Origin call-up due to his impressive form.
But 21-year-old was hopeful he could return to the type of football that saw him become a crucial cog in Penrith's attack last season.
"It's pretty devastating for Mick and the team as well ... the way he's been playing for the boys and for the team has been outstanding," Coote said.
"He's a very good player and I really feel sorry for him and the way his season's ended.
"I'm just hoping to come out there and play my own game and try and get back to the way I was playing last year.
"Hopefully my groin pulls up sweet and I won't have to have another couple of weeks out."
Adrian Purtell will start in the centres in the absence of Tahu and NSW centre Michael Jennings.
Meanwhile, Bulldogs' hooker Josh Reynolds will make his NRL debut against Canberra on Friday night as NSW representative Michael Ennis' replacement.
Coach Kevin Moore said Reynolds was in the Ennis mould of player, and thoroughly deserved his call-up to first grade.
"He's very similar to Mick. One of his great strengths I think is his competitiveness," Moore said.
The Raiders will again be without half-back Matt Orford (groin), with Sam Williams starting in the number seven jersey while young full-back Nathan Massey has been called up to fill the void of Blues number one Josh Dugan.
Parramatta centre Joel Reddy looks certain to miss the rest of the season with a pectoral injury.
Reddy had scans on Tuesday but will not know the extent of the damage until he sees a specialist on Wednesday.
His place in the team to face Cronulla, who have named Josh Cordoba and Taulima Tautai in place of their Origin stars Kade Snowden and Paul Gallen, has been filled by youngster Ryan Morgan.

The Raiders are without a victory since round one and Canberra coach David Furner acknowledges that the round 8 clash with the Tigers is a must-win.
He said the team would be better for the return of 2008 premiership half-back Orford.
"Matty's experience [is something] we probably need it at this stage ... Matty will be a good inclusion," Furner told reporters.
Young half Sam Williams, who deputised in Orford's absence, drops back to Toyota Cup.
Furner said his team's capitulation after leading 12-0 at half-time in last Sunday's game against Newcastle, when it conceded 22 second-half points, was unacceptable.
"It's not acceptable to play that sort of second half and expect to win," Furner said.
